These are photographs from the recent ordination of two Bhikkhunis in ABS Temple, Sacremento, California on May 6th 2012. The nuns concerned were Ven. Nibbidā and Ven Mārajinā. I am very grateful to Ayya Anandabodhi for allowing me to reproduce these photographs here from her Facebook album.
On invitation Ajahn Brahm spoke at the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields, in Kuala Lumpur about why he came to support the reintroduction of the Bhikkhuni ordination, and the advantages of having the Sasana standing on four pillars.
The full title of the talk was: Is there wholehearted support for the re-establishment of the Bhikkhuni Sangha from the Bhikkhu Sangha? Ajahn is as entertaining as always and uses his unique style of presentation to get a serious message across.
The newly formed Support Network held its first formal meeting at Brickfields just before this talk, and Ajahn asked Bhante Anandajoti to speak about the network during question time. Also Ayya Upekkha, one of the founders of the Network, was asked to speak about why she wanted to become a Bhikkhuni.
The video was recorded and edited by Teik Leong Lim, who gave permission for the Network to upload it.
