Gotami Vihara Society is pleased to announce a 10 day Stress Management Retreat conducted by Venerable Bodhicitta. Details are as follows:
Venerable Bodhicitta’s different approach to teaching meditation is reflected in the program and the book by her Master, Venerable Punnaji Thera. Venerable Punnaji was in a unique position of being a bhikkhu, medical doctor and psychologist when he developed his meditation practice.
In Venerable Bodhicitta’s last retreat in August 2012, participants who were stressed or depressed found it to be very beneficial. They was more calm and enlightened to the Dhamma. Even new meditators found it enjoyable, relaxing and could progress very quickly.
Those who came from overseas and out of town found it worthwhile and looked forward to future retreats. I am personally inspired by the method of teaching and have found it to be one of the best i have attended and would recommened it to meditators, whether beginners or experienced.
So we hope that you will take the opportunity to participate in this retreat while Venerable is in Malaysia.
As Gotami Vihara can only accommodate 10 people, we have decided to conduct it at Chin Swee Temple which is located in a tranquil environment among the clouds on top of the mountain range of Genting Highlands. It is often used for retreats and also offers a good get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life, far from the heat, noise and polluted air.
Bro. Lim Thean Chye, President of GBS was able to get special rates for food as his Society is a co-sponsor of the event.
Room rates are: RM25 per person, twin sharing with bathroom attached. All rooms, restaurant and temple are in one building complex. No resident monk or chanting done at Temple.
Lunch catered from Genting staff canteen at RM5 p. pax
Breakfast and afternoon refreshment (simple ones) are arranged by Organisers and will be held in open air on the balcony of the meditation hall.

* Meal rates can be reduced if we can get sponsorships in cash or food dana – fruits, juices, milk, milo, honey, cereals, biscuits, nuts, cheese, dark chocolate, lemon & preserved ginger. Donations or sponsors are welcome to make it affordable to some participants.
Car pool – to meet at Buddhist Maha Vihara at 5pm, Fri 2 November or earlier if you can arrange for transport. Please inform us, so that we can maximize on availability of cars. Transport dana is also welcome. Public Transport: Genting bus from KL Sentral Station

Noble Silence should be kept at all times throughout the retreat. This is a strictly 10 day, in-house retreat and no admissions are allowed mid-way.
What To Bring
Bedroom provides barest minimum – soap, hangers, glasses, matches. Hot & cold drinking water is available along the corridor but no beverages are provided.
Bring your own toiletries, bath towels, shampoo, shower cap (as shower is not hand-held), torch, walking shoes, jacket. If needed, flask & ear-plugs. For yoga exercise, yoga mat or big towel. Please wear white, comfortable clothes
We are Going Green, so bring your plate or lunch box, cup, fork & spoon.
Each participant will be given required materials and also the latest chanting book, with compliments of Buddhist Maha Vihara.
